GE Microwave Oven

Our earliest ancestors cooked their meat over an open fire. Later, humans harnessed the power of coal, electricity and natural gas in order to power ovens and stoves and get their household cooking done. After that, it seemed like there was nowhere else to go when it came to the world of cooking, but that turned out not to be so. Because soon after, the GE microwave oven was born.

A GE microwave oven has proven itself to be an invaluable appliance in the modern kitchen. It can be used to cook food from a raw state, or heat up previously cooked food from mom’s kitchen or even that restaurant meal you had the night before. For cooks, the GE microwave oven was a stupendous invention. If they were in a hurry, no longer were they forced to turn on the oven in order to cook or heat up food. Because of its relatively small size, the GE microwave oven is much more efficient when it come to small cooking or reheating jobs than its oven counterparts.

Cooks throughout time have also effortlessly worked the GE microwave oven into their cooking routines. Instead of leaving frozen chicken parts of cuts of beef out overnight in order to defrost them, cooks are able to use the GE microwave oven’s handy and convenient defrost feature. Also, if a gourmet cook is preparing an elaborate gourmet meal, he or she is easily able to use the GE microwave oven as another cooking appliance. If all four eyes and the oven are full, why not use the microwave to accomplish one of the many cooking tasks associated with preparing a gourmet meal?

But how do GE microwave ovens work? GE microwave ovens use dielectric heating in order to accomplish their cooking and reheating tasks. This form of heating is achieved because the GE microwave oven uses microwave radiation to heat the water and other polarized molecules within food. Microwave heating is especially convenient, because the techniques it employs allow the food to be heated all the way through. This feature of GE microwave oven heating is unique in the world of heating and reheating. Even when heating or reheating in the oven, it is often difficult to get a food item heated all the way through without changing the taste of the dish or perhaps scorching it around the edges. Still, GE microwave ovens are not miracle machines, and sometimes they do fail to heat up the centers of especially thick objects.

GE microwave ovens are also unsuitable for cooking certain foods. For instance, because of the way they use dielectric heating, they are not equipped to brown or bake foods like conventional ovens do. Of course, microwave proponents have realized this and began adding certain parts on to GE microwave ovens in order to encourage people to use microwaves for all of their cooking and baking needs. Sometimes these microwave ovens are called combination GE microwave ovens.

Throughout time, especially when microwave ovens were first introduced to the market, many people had concerns about the “microwaves” they used to cook food. While there still is some concern about leakage of microwaves outside the oven, most of those concerns have been addressed by GE and other microwave manufacturers.

On the other hand, it can be argued that GE microwave ovens are actually a safer way to cook than conventional ovens because they do not pose a fire hazard, such as the open flame from a gas stove, or the intense heat generated by an electric stove, do. All in all, GE microwave ovens are a safe, convenient and effective way to cook or reheat certain foods.
