Electric Toothbrush

Brushing your teeth is very important and if you do not stay consistent it could lead to cavities, dental plaque, and more. It is also important to train yourself and your kids to brush your kids once or twice a day. Many people start to slack off for whatever reason. Brushing your teeth is an easy task but people still manage to be lazy about it. Now there are no excuses to not brush your teeth as electric toothbrushes are available.

An electric toothbrush can be very affordable but there are some more expensive (professional grade, $100+) models. A cheap electric toothbrush is still generally better than a basic toothbrush. The electric toothbrush will help you form a routine each day and you will brush your teeth without thinking about it after a while. This is very important but this is also not the only reason the electric toothbrush was created.

Why Use an Electric Toothbrush

The electric toothbrush was not originally designed to be a remedy for people that are too lazy to brush their teeth with a normal toothbrush. Electric toothbrushes are designed to be more efficient at brushing your teeth and healthier on your gums as well. When you use a basic toothbrush you are going to be brushing your teeth fairly roughly. It can also lead to hurting your gums and this also relates to the issue of bleeding gums when you avoid brushing your teeth for a while.

If you use an electric toothbrush it will automatically be completing circular movements. This is much more effective as it covers all areas of your teeth equally. This also avoids causing a harsh scraping of your gums with the brush material.

Benefits of an Electric Toothbrush

What was just touched on is obviously a major reason why you should use an electric toothbrush. However, that is not the biggest reason why an electric toothbrush is a recommendable investment. The real beauty of the electric toothbrush is the auto shut off feature. With an electric toothbrush you are forced to brush your teeth for the correct amount of time. This is a minimum of two minutes.

Many people that use a manual toothbrush will only brush their teeth for thirty seconds or so each time. This is not enough time to clean your teeth efficiently. With two minutes to brush your teeth with an electric toothbrush you can dedicate one minute to each set (top and bottom) and improve your dental health.

Electric Toothbrush for Kids
Lets face it, kids hate brushing their teeth. After a long and exciting day there is a transition period where you have them washing up before sending them to bed. Usually an important part of this time is brushing their teeth but a lot of the time it can be a struggle. If you were to replace the standard toothbrush with an electric toothbrush designed for kids it could make this process easier.

The main idea of an electric toothbrush for kids is not just to get them to brush their teeth. You want to get your kids into a routine where they are brushing their teeth every morning and night. After this becomes a habit there is no need for an electric toothbrush. There is no major issue with using an electric toothbrush but if you were to switch back to a manual toothbrush it would not be an issue.

An electric toothbrush can be good for many different situations. If you have a few hundred dollars to spend on a professional grade electric toothbrush then you could see major results. However, an inexpensive electric toothbrush can still be very beneficial and it can help you improve your dental health. Ultimately, an electric toothbrush is not a necessary investment but it can make taking care of your teeth a lot easier and pain-free.
