Clock Radios

Nobody likes alarm clocks. They usually signal the start of the old nine to five. However, they don’t wake you up kindly. It’s usually an ear piercing beep that you can’t switch off, and you end up fumbling around in the dark trying to find that mysterious ‘off’ switch. There are ways to get away from this, though, without ending up late for work, or whatever the reason that requires you to be up at a certain time. How about, being woken up by your favorite radio station? It’s not ideal, but it is a much better alternative to being woken up by an incessant beeping that won’t go away. There are several clock radios out there that are available for you to purchase, shopping around is essential.

First, let’s take a look at a budget model, the GPX CR2307 clock radio. At only eight dollars, this clock radio is at a price that everyone can afford. The first obvious plus point to the GPX CR2307 Clock Radio is the LCD screen. The screen is very large, and has a clear display of the time. This means that even those with poor vision will be able to see what time it is with no issues whatsoever. The next good thing is that there is a snooze button which allows you that extra 15 minutes in bed. No alarm clock is worth buying if there is no snooze button, clock radio or no clock radio. Overall, this is a very reasonable product for a decent price.

Looking at a clock radio that is a little more expensive, the Sony ICF-C318BLACK clock radio comes at a price of roughly fifteen dollars, which again, is a very reasonable price. One obvious advantage to this particular model is the design. It comes in a very sleek black style, so it is great for fitting in with the décor. This isn’t much of an important factor when considering a clock radio, but it’s a nice added extra. The clock display itself is a green LED backlight. It is very easy to see, and another good feature, you can adjust the brightness of the time display. There’s nothing worse than a bright light shining in your eyes early in the morning. Overall, it is another great product at an inexpensive price.

Now to take a look at a model that is a considerable amount more expensive than the previous two mentioned above. The price of the Aluratek AIRMM01 clock radio can range from ninety nine dollars, to an outstanding one hundred and seventy five dollars. Now, this may seem ridiculously expensive, but the features of this clock radio certainly justify the price. To start with, it has Wi-Fi capabilities that mean you can listen to thousands of radio stations via the internet. As well as this, it can play MP3’s. This alone makes the Aluratek AIRMM01 Clock Radio stand out from others on the market. Obviously this clock radio is not going to be suited to everyone, as the price is very steep, but, if you can afford it, it is well worth the money.

As you can see from the clock radios mentioned above, there are a lot of things to consider before you buy a clock radio. You are going to want to think about the cost, first of all. Don’t spend a lot of money on a clock radio if you want a very basic model, equally as important; be prepared to pay a fair amount more if you want more advanced clock radio with Wi-Fi capabilities like the ones mentioned above. There are all sorts of different designs available too. There are small clock radios, state of the art designs, and old fashioned designs. It is all down to preference, there is one for everyone though.
